Welcome to Shimrin Aussies

Established in 2009, Shimrin Aussies was built on my love for this clever and loyal breed, starting with my first Australian Shepherd, Belle.

As my passion for the breed grew, I was fortunate to find a respected, ethical, and knowledgeable mentor who guided me on my journey from being a dedicated owner to becoming a conformation and obedience competitor, and eventually on to becoming a conscientious breeder.

I was also fortunate to find a wonderful man who shares my love for Australian Shepherds. He has become my pillar of support and contributes greatly to the success of our team at Shimrin Aussies.

Our Mission:

The two primary goals in our small kennel have always been to actively and successfully compete with our dogs and to breed for the betterment of the Australian Shepherd as a whole. We strive to produce dogs that are intelligent, beautiful, and healthy– excelling as both cherished family companions and dedicated working partners.

Our Breeding Approach:

We are dedicated to preserving the breed’s legacy through a science-based breeding approach, carefully studying the pedigrees, phenotypes (physical traits), genotypes (genetic makeup), temperament, health and structure of both parents.

Our litters are infrequent and carefully planned months or years in advance. This commitment to quality has resulted in several generations of dogs with impressive titles, including AKC conformation champions and dogs who excel in a variety of canine sports such as obedience, rally, agility, dock diving, nosework, and therapy work. Many of our dogs have also proven their natural herding abilities through instinct tests.

Ultimately, the greatest reward is knowing all of our smart, loving “once in a lifetime” dogs are now either accomplished members of our household or cherished members of families across the United States and abroad.
